the easter bunny jumps around
his bag with eggs he has not found
it’s hidden in the deepest grass
where did it pass?

the children will go looking for
but every place they have in mind
is empty, sad and full of bore
‘cause not a single egg they’ll find

so master rabbit finds no rest
and searches ‘til it’s really late
he shouts at his forgetfulness
and knocks on farmer maggot’s gate

the easter bunny jumps around
his bag with eggs he has not found
it’s hidden in the deepest grass
where did it pass?

at farmer maggot’s kitchen table
sits santa claus with weary eyes
and weeps because he is not able
to pay this year’s gift’s higher price

so he went to the market place
(‘cause money’s needed for his job)
to sell what he has lately gazed
a bag with eggs at near hill’s top

the easter bunny jumps around

the easter bunny is upset
and shouts on Santa, who’s in shame
what happened to my eggs, he said
and in his eyes burns black a flame

i gave them ‘way, my little friend
santa smiles ‘cause of some visions
your eggs they’ll use as I have meant
to throw at nasty politicians
